Shift Technology (Boston and Paris) has launched Shift Claims, a platform powered by agentic artificial intelligence that supports insurers in transforming claims operations. The solution is designed to assess and prioritize cases, assist claims handlers, and automate tasks across the claims lifecycle.
Shift says the platform reduces claims leakage, accelerates resolution, and lowers handling costs while improving policyholder experience. Claims transformation has historically been hindered by process complexity and the unique path of each claim, which has limited the effectiveness of rules-based technology.
“It is not surprising that the results promised by claims transformation projects over the years have failed to materialize, because most technology-based approaches were simply not up to the task of addressing claim complexity,” says Eric Sibony, chief scientist and chief product officer, Shift Technology. “Agentic AI provides insurers with a powerful transformation tool that increases automation when appropriate and also provides the right kind of advice, guidance, and recommendations when a human claim handler needs to be in the loop.”
